Om Annica Kihlgren

Annica Kihlgren är legitimerad sjuksköterska och disputerade 2005 vid Karolinska Institutet med avhandlingen ”Older Patients in Transition- from Home Care towards Emergency Care”. Annica arbetar idag som professor i omvårdnadsvetenskap vid Institutionen för Hälsovetenskaper.

Forskningsinriktning/aktuella projekt

Fokus i pågående forskning ligger på äldres hälsa och livsvillkor utifrån den äldre personens egen subjektiva upplevelse och den vård som ges till äldre, med koppling till personcentrerad vård. Studierna belyser också vårdpersonals samt ledares syn på sin arbetssituation och organisatoriska aspekter inom äldreomsorgen. Stor vikt läggs vid att utveckla instrument, sprida och implementera ny kunskap inom äldreomsorgen där Annica har ett nära samarbete med de olika aktörerna.

Maghälsans betydelse under åldrandet studeras genom tvärvetenskaplig forskning i samarbete med forskarskolan NUPARC, ”The Örebro Nutrition and Physical Activity Research Centre for Optimal Health and Functionality through Life” och forskningsmiljön Nutrition Gut Brain Interaction.

Fokus i nationella projekt innefattar äldre personer i vårdkedjan samt äldre personers vårdbehov och internationellt genomförs studier om betydelsen av sinnesro under åldrandet där samarbete sker med forskare i Norge och Spanien.

Metodologiskt har Annica kunskap inom framförallt kvalitativ forskning och aktionsforskning samt att planera, leda och genomföra större projekt.

Undervisning

Annica undervisar och handleder studenter på grund och avancerad nivå samt handleder doktorander under forskarutbildning.

Övriga uppdrag

Annica anlitats ofta som granskare av nordiska forskningsansökningar, utbildningsprogram samt varit opponent och ledamot i betygsnämnder vid flera nationella och nordiska disputationer.
