Research environments
The subject of Biology is the study of living organisms, from the molecular level up to the interactions between organisms and their living environment and ecosystem. Biology involves interdisciplinary approaches to cover the diverse subject area. Biology research at Örebro University falls within four main areas:
- molecular biology and physiology of living organisms and their interactions with the environment
- ecological processes, including their significance for species’ adaptation to and survival in nature
- toxicological processes, including a mechanistic understanding of environmental problems
- microbiological processes including their significance for the environment and health.
These research areas are fully developed with national and international collaborations, as well as to industry and commerce.
