Informatics is the scientific discipline developing knowledge about people's designs and uses of information technologies (IT) in different contexts; individual, organisational, and societal. The central object of study is information system. Information system includes IT, people and processes. More precisely, it can be expressed as a system in which information is collected, stored, processed and distributed using IT to support communication and activities within or between organisations. At Örebro University, the focus is on eHealth, Electronic government, ICT for development, IT and learning, information security, systems development methods, and ICT for Crisis Management (ICT4CM).
