This project is part of the research program Security Culture and Information Technology, SECURIT.
Every organization has a particular culture, comprising a ubiquitous set of assumptions, often difficult to visualize, which directs the activities within the organization. Culture can be defined as the beliefs and values shared by people in an organization. Existing research on information security shows that goals, beliefs and values affect how information security actions as well as other actions are carried out in organizations.
Our goal is to create awareness on how information security culture affects collaboration in inter-organizational settings. This is important and can help information security managers in cultivating information security cultures. We create a more nuanced understanding of the “antagonist” concept and how it is shaped by the information security culture in an organization.
