Om Thomas Chaillou
Thomas Chaillou är universitetslektor i idrottsfysiologi.
Under 2011 tog han sin doktorsexamen (University of Grenoble, Frankrike) i muskelremodulering, under hypertrofi och regenerering i hypoxi. Mellan 2012 och 2014 var han postdoktor vid University of Kentucky (USA) där han fortsatte att utveckla sin expertis inom mekanismer för att kontrollera skelettmuskelmassa. Mellan 2014 och 2016 var han postdoktor vid Karolinska Institutet där han fokuserade sin forskning på muskelfunktion (kraft, trötthet, återhämtning) under fysiologiska (t.ex. fysisk aktivitet) och patologiska (t.ex. cancer, kemoterapi, ALS och ischemi) förhållanden. Han blev universitetslektor vid Örebro universitet 2016.
Hans nuvarande forskning är uppdelad i tre delar: 1) muskel- och molekylärbiologi under fysiologiska (t.ex. träning, åldrande, termisk stress) och patologiska (t.ex. inflammation) tillstånd, 2) återhämtningsstrategier inom idrott och 3) fysiologiska förändringar och anpassningar till träning.
Hans undervisning fokuserar främst på träningsfysiologi, idrottsprestation, idrottsnutrition, forskningsmetoder inom idrottsvetenskap och fysiologiska / biologiska metoder som tillämpas på idrottsvetenskap. Han är handledare till studenter på kandidat och masternivå, samt är ansvarig för flera kurser.
