Om Samuel Edelbring
Samuel Edelbring är professor i högskolepedagogik vid Mälardalens universitet och affilierad forskare vid institutionen för Hälsovetenskaper vid Örebro universitet. Han har sin grundutbildning i pedagogik, är fil. doktor i medicinsk pedagogik (Karolinska Institutet, 2012) och blev docent i medicinsk pedagogik vid Linköpings universitet 2017.
Han har sedan 2001 arbetat med högskolepedagogisk forskning och utveckling i syfte att stärka kvalitet och utveckling i utbildningar inom hälsovården, bland annat till läkare och sjuksköterska. Forskningen innefattar studenters lärande och stöd till lärares pedagogiska medvetenhet.
Forskning
I sin doktorsavhandling undersökte Samuel Edelbring pedagogiska perspektiv på teknikstödd undervisning, och särskilt datorstödda patientscenarier med virtuella patienter i läkarutbildningen. Avhandlingen visade att datorstödda läraktiviteter bidrar till såväl förberedelse för patientmötet som att träna det kliniska resonemanget. Han har fortsatt att undersöka hur simuleringsbaserat lärande kan stödja studenter i utbildningar inom medicin och hälsa där hans forskning visar att simuleringsbaserat lärande är relevant och engagerande metodik i undervisningen.
Hans forskningsintressen rör också interprofessionellt lärande, kliniskt resonemang samt studenters tilltro till sin förmåga att lära i verksamhetsförlagd utbildning. Han har lett den svenska delen av Erasmus+ projektet DID-ACT som utformade europeiska lärmoment för kliniskt resonemang.
Han är huvudhandledare för doktorander Ruhija Hodza-Beganovic som undersöker utveckling av icke-tekniska färdigheter i sjukvårdsteam på Balkan samt Tiina Luukkanen som undersöker sjuksköterskors kliniska resonemang inom hemsjukvård. Han är verksam i Erasmus+ samverkansproject ACTIVATE som utvecklar utbildning för kliniska färdigheter och teamträning för palliativ vård och kroniskt sjuka personer genom simuleringsbaserat lärande.
