Om Maria Lodefalk

Maria Lodefalk är docent i medicinsk vetenskap och specialistläkare i barn- och ungdomsmedicin med subspecialisering inom pediatrisk endokrinologi. Hon disputerade vid Karolinska Institutet i Stockholm på en avhandling om typ 1-diabetes hos ungdomar och deras kostvanor och magtarmfunktion. Senare års forskning fokuserar på pubertets- och tillväxtstörningar hos barn och ungdomar samt på molekylärbiologiska förändringar i placentan i relation till graviditetskomplikationer, prenatal exponering och fostertillväxt. Maria Lodefalk är ansvarig för en stor placentaprovsamling som finns vid Universitetssjukhuset i Örebro.

Maria Lodefalk är för tillfället huvudhandledare åt två doktorander och bihandledare åt två andra doktorander. Hon delar sin arbetstid mellan att vara överläkare inom Verksamhetsområde Barn- och ungdomsmedicin och Forskningshandledare vid Universitetssjukvårdens Forskningscentrum, båda inom Region Örebro län. Lodefalk är också engagerad i Läkarprogrammet och Specialistsjuksköterskeprogrammet vid universitetet, i nationella arbetsgrupper och som sakkunnig hos Nyckelfonden.
