Om Lars-Olov Lundqvist
Lars-Olov har en bakgrund som universitetslektor i psykologi vid Örebro universitet. Därifrån gick han 2001 till en tjänst som forskningsledare och därefter forskningschef på Habiliteringens forskningscentrum vid Region Örebro län.
Sedan 2015 är Lars-Olov Lundqvist är forskningshandledare vid Universitetssjukvårdens forskningscentrum vid Region Örebro län. För närvarande driver han forskning inom tre överlappande forskningsområden: Funktionshinder och hälsa, kvalitet i psykiatrisk vård och emotionell kommunikation och emotionell reglering.
Forskningen om funktionshinder och hälsa handlar om bland annat om personer med cerebral pares, autismspektrumtillstånd, intellektuella funktionsnedsättningar, förvärvad hjärnskada, syn- och hörselnedsättningar och diabetes. Forskningen bedrivs tillsammans med doktorander och forskare kopplade till Habilitering och hjälpmedel vid Region Örebro län och Institutet för Handikappvetenskap, knutet till universiteten i Örebro och Linköping samt högskolan i Jönköping.
Forskningen har det övergripande syftet att bidra till att ge personer med funktionsnedsättning en bättre livssituation och inkluderar barn, vuxna och äldre med olika funktionsnedsättningar.
Forskningen om kvalitet i psykiatrisk vård görs tillsammans med professor Agneta Schröder vid Universitetssjukvårdens forskningscentrum, Örebro, och syftar till att utveckla och utvärdera instrument för mätning av kvalitet i psykiatrisk vård. Instrumenten är anpassade för olika psykiatriska verksamheter och kan bland annat användas för nationella och internationella jämförelser.
Vi vill identifiera förbättringsområden och mäta effekter av åtgärder som görs för att förbättra kvaliteten. Vi samarbetar med patientorganisationer och med internationella forskare från bland annat de nordiska länderna, Spanien, Frankrike, Storbritannien, Brasilien, Indonesien, Taiwan, Thailand och Australien
Syftet med forskningen om emotionell kommunikation och emotionell reglering är att identifiera individuella skillnader i mottaglighet för andras uttryck för känslor, och hur dessa är kopplade till andra psykologiska faktorer som livskvalitet och hälsa. Det kan till exempel vara hos personer med autismspektrumtillstånd.
Andra frågor handlar om hur känslor förmedlas med kroppsspråk och röstläge och hur musik används för att reglera känslor, bland annat hos ungdomar med intellektuella funktionsnedsättningar. Forskningen bedrivs huvudsakligen i samarbete med andra forskare i Europa och USA.
Forskning om funktionshinder är ett litet område. Som adjungerad professor i handikappvetenskap får jag nu möjligheten att knyta forskning som bedrivs inom Region Örebro län närmare den forskning som sker vid Örebro universitet och Institutet för handikappvetenskap. Det känns mycket stimulerande och gör att vi nu ytterligare kan vidga och fördjupa denna forskning inom regionen.
