Om David McGreevy

David McGreevy är specialistläkare i kärlkirurgi vid Kärlthoraxkliniken på Örebro Universitetssjukhus och disputerade 2024 vid Örebro Universitet med avhandlingen "EndoVascular resuscitation and Trauma Management in hemodynamic instability".

Hans forskning fokuserar på innovativa endovaskulära metoder för blödningskontroll, en central del av EVTM-konceptet (EndoVascular resuscitation and Trauma Management), som syftar till att förbättra behandlingen av patienter med akut hemodynamisk instabilitet.

Utöver detta bedriver David forskning om de metabola och inflammatoriska processerna vid claudicatio intermittens (fönstertittarsjuka) och undersöker nya behandlingsstrategier för att förbättra patientutfall.

Andra forskningsområden inkluderar metodutveckling inom kärlkirurgi, med särskilt fokus på fistelkirurgi och behandling av kritisk benischemi, samt utveckling av innovativa lösningar för blodtrycksövervakning och hjärt och lungräddning.

David är även aktiv som sakkunnig granskare för flera internationella vetenskapliga tidskrifter och är en flitigt anlitad föreläsare vid lokala, nationella och internationella konferenser.

Han är medlem i European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) guidelineskommitté och deltar i utvecklingen av de första europeiska riktlinjerna för behandling av kärltrauma. Dessutom innehar David rollen som vetenskaplig sekreterare i Aortic Trauma Foundation, en internationell organisation som arbetar för att förbättra vården för patienter med traumatiska aortaskador genom forskning, utbildning och samarbete mellan specialister världen över.
