Working in health and social care for older persons
About this project
Project information
Within this project are several ongoing studies with the aim to study how nurses and assistant nurses perceive their role and work situations in elder care. Data collection and reporting has been conducted over a 10 year period and comparisons over time are now being made. A basic assumption of the project is the demonstration of the value continuity and knowledge among staff plays in the older person’s ability to maintain skills, experience well-being and thus feel more independent. Work is now continuing to link the research that has been conducted within the project to Person-centered care. The effects of a good physical environment, clinical supervision and education directed to healthcare professionals have and will be studied.
The studies are conducted in collaboration with Örebro University, Karolinska Institute, Primary Health Care of Gävleborg, Gävle University College and Buskerud and Vestfold University College, Norway.
