HPV related cancer, precision medicine in prevention, screening and diagnostics
About this group
Group information
Research subject
The research within the group applies precision medicine techniques to develop prevention, screening, diagnostics, and clinical follow-up of cancers that can be caused by human papillomavirus. Health economic assessments of the applications of these techniques are also part of the group's area of interest. Within the various disease areas, it can be particularly mentioned that methods for detecting pre-stages of cervical cancer are studied with regard to diagnostic precision, compliance and health economics. Biomarkers for cervical, vulvar and vaginal cancer as well as morphological diagnostics for penile cancer are further parts of the group's activity. The group also runs projects regarding circulating tumour markers in HPV-related tonsil/oral cancer. The group collaborates with other groups within the university, as well as national and international actors in the field.
