Publishing strategies and research visibility doctoral course

The PhD course Publishing strategies and research visibility is primarily aimed at doctoral students and junior researchers at Örebro University, who have either already published an article in a scientific journal or are in the process of doing so shortly.

During the course we will go through different aspects of the publishing process, such as how to choose the right journal, both when it comes to scientific quality and potential impact. Other topics will be open access, predatory journals, Creative Commons licenses, researcher profiles and basic bibliometrics.

The course is taught through interactive meetings (e.g. seminars and workshops), as well as lectures. Focus will be on active participation during workshops, where the participants learn by doing. In preparation of each teaching session there will be assigned reading and/or an individual assignment.

Publishing strategies and research visibility is offered every Autumn and Spring term, and it is equivalent to 3 credits. The teaching sessions are mandatory and consist of meetings both on campus and in Zoom.  The campus-based meetings will be on Campus Örebro and Campus USÖ.

Language of instruction is English.

Information about assigned reading and preparations for each teaching session will be posted in BB Learn at least three weeks before the course starts.
