Resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta - Physiology and clinical aspects of an emerging technique
About this project
Project information
The project aims to study the use ofresuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA) for temporary circulatory stabilization in severe bleeding such as traumatic hemorrhagic shock. Animal and clinical studies investigate the hemodynamic effect of the aortic balloon and its effect on visceral organs, general metabolism and systemic inflammation. Novel methods to reduce organ damage when using endovascular aortic occlusion are being developed and evaluated.
