About Samira Salihovic
Samira Salihovic is an associate senior lecturer in chemistry. She did her doctoral studies at Man Technology and Environment (MTM) Research Centre at Örebro University and graduated in 2013. Following postdoctoral postitions at the Molecular Epidemiology Unit at Uppsala University (2013-2018) and stays abroad at the Department of Toxic Substances Control, California Environmental Protection Agency (CAL-EPA) in Berkely (2016) and Colorado State University in Fort Collins (2018) she rejoined Örebro University as a part of Inflammation Response and Infection Susceptibility Centre (iRiSC) in 2019.
Research
Her main interests and activities are focused on environmental exposure science, environmental epidemiology, and metabolomics in large population based studies. She is currently expanding her research within the field of immunometabolism.
Teaching
PBL-tutor in semster T1 of the medical program. Lecturer in organic chemistry of the chemistry program.
Departmental duties
Deputy course coordinator at T1 (30 credits) of the medical program. Course coordinator for the course Translational Medicine (15 credits) as part of the master's program in Experimental Biomedicine.
