Who we are

Reach for Change is a global non-profit founded in Sweden. Our vision is a world where all children and youth reach their full potential. We are working towards this vision by finding local social entrepreneurs and empowering them to develop and scale innovative solutions that improve the lives of children and youth. We were co-founded by successful entrepreneurs in the non-profit and business sectors in 2010, and since then we have supported more than 2,000 direct beneficiaries in 18 countries across three continents. We run development programs for social entrepreneurs that are tailored to their specific developmental stage. The social entrepreneurs are supported in scaling their innovations through capacity development, network connections and funding, all in partnership with multiple sectors. Read more about us here.

What we can offer

An exciting and educational internship through which you experience an international working environment as part of a results-driven, smart, brave and passionate team. During your internship, you will gain insight into how a global non-profit organization is structured and works in practice. Being part of the Partnership team, you will learn about how such organizations cultivate strategic long-term donors and partners and take an active part in all related procedures, including pipeline/business development, grant writing, partner relations, reporting, events, as well as organizational and strategic team development. With the necessary support, you will be given the opportunity to take ownership of your own tasks and projects and gain practical experience in project management and self-leadership. We highly value our interns for their skills and the energy they bring to our team and offer a great opportunity for you to gain confidence and develop your workplace skills.

During your internship

You will be working directly with the Partnership team providing support with different and engaging day-to-day tasks, often in cooperation with other team members located across the globe. Your role will include a mix of administrative tasks, desk research, attending meetings, grant writing, proofreading, as well as development of our key internal processes and tools. You will also have the opportunity to work on longer, independently driven projects linked to your own background and interests, for instance something research/analysis-based, something focused on a particular region (Africa/Europe), or something linked to specific organizational programmes and events. A typical working day is between 9 and 17, but working hours are flexible and within reason can be done remotely. Minimum every other week you will have a check-in with your supervisor, where your work tasks and development will be followed up on.

Who you are

A student: We expect you to be a student either at the Bachelor’s or Master’s level and connected to a university where the internship is part of your education plan. The position is unpaid and therefore it is important to us that you are receiving funds from a third party (SU/CSN/Erasmus Stipendium or another source of student support).

Passionate: Have a strong passion when it comes to the end goal of improving the world for children and youth, and are interested in working in a remote and international, pragmatic, business-savvy and results-driven team.

Brave: As a person, you are brave, thorough, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. You don’t hesitate to take initiative, are proactive, and enjoy having varied tasks and projects. You don't hesitate to ask questions, learn, be curious and would rather fail than do nothing.

Smart: You care about the quality of your work and you have an entrepreneurial, problem-solving, go-getter mindset. You are also confident in utilizing standard IT tools for day-to-day tasks and communication - especially Google Suite.

Competencies and skills we are looking for: Proficiency in English both written and spoken is a requirement.

If this sounds like you please get in touch with us!

Reach for Change recognizes that creating the change we want to see around us starts with ourselves, in our own organization. That is why it is important for us to strive to represent the change we want to see in the world. As a team, we strive to be diverse along many dimensions such as ethnicity, gender, language, age, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, beliefs, socio-economic status, physical and mental ability, thinking styles, experience, and education. We believe that the wide array of perspectives results from such diversity and promotes innovation and success. We, therefore, invite every candidate to bring their unique individual strengths.
