a)         Webbased modeling frontend:
In a recent project, we developed a user interface for configuring a simulation scenario including robotic mobile agent behavior descriptions (robot missions, etc). A big discussion then was about Linux or Windows. If we would manage to have the modelling interface in a browser, such discussion are not relevant any more. Yet, such a user interface is more complicated than the usual form based one supporting mostly linear sequences of interaction. This is a development task with a twist towards questions related to general capabilities of browser-based user interfaces.

b)         Using machine learning to optimize customer satisfaction in hospitality industry This is a test-balloon for an interdisciplinary cooperation with RHS in Grythyttan. The team around Mats Carlbäck has collected data in restaurants and hotels at different places in Europe, ranging from customer satisfaction questionnaires, to revenues, costs, etc. Relevant research question relate to for example properties/features of a restaurant actually impacts customer satisfaction. More details will be available in discussions with Mats and Franziska.
