Welcome!
MV Science Forum invites you to a lecture with Sylvain Peuget, Assistant Professor and Team Leader at the Department of Microbiology, Tumor, and Cell Biology (MTC) at the Karolinska Institute.

Sylvain Peuget is currently Team Leader at the Department of Microbiology, Tumor, and Cell Biology (MTC) at the Karolinska Institute. He completed his PhD in Marseille, France, where he characterized genes in the p53 pathway. In 2014, Sylvain moved to Sweden for a postdoc to investigate p53 reactivation by small molecules for cancer therapy in Galina Selivanova’s lab at KI, where he became an Assistant Professor and Team Leader in 2018.

His research focuses on the interplay between putative oncogenic bacteria in the gut and tumor suppressors, with a focus on the p53 pathway, and its impact on cancer initiation, progression, and response to therapy. Sylvain and his team conduct molecular mechanistic studies on both the host and bacterial side, aiming to identify novel targets for cancer prevention or therapy.

The lecture will be given in English.
