MV Science Forum invites to a lecture with Magnus Unemo, Associate Professor at Örebro University, Sweden and Honorary Professor at University College London (UCL), United Kingdom.
Title: Antimicrobial resistance in Neisseria gonorrhoeae and future gonorrhoea treatment
Magnus Unemo, director of the global WHO Collaborating Centre for Gonorrhoea and Other STIs and the Swedish Reference Laboratory for STIs, Örebro University Hospital, Örebro, Sweden. Leading the European Gonococcal Antimicrobial Surveillance Programme (Euro-GASP) on behalf of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and involved in leading the WHO GASP and WHO Enhanced GASP (EGASP) together with WHO headquarter.
Main research: Neisseria gonorrhoeae but also, e.g., Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma genitalium, Trichomonas vaginalis, and syphilis. >500 PubMed-indexed international publications and numerous European and global WHO guidelines and scientific chapters.
The lecture will be given in English.
