Visit to Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
A team from the informatics department visited the Department of Informatics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in order to explore opportunities for collaboration.
On the 8-11th of May 2023, Kai Wistrand (Assistant Prof. and Head of the department of Informatics ), Shang Gao and Panagiota Chatzipetrou (Associate Professors in Informatics) visited the Department of Informatics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
The goal of the trip was to explore opportunities for collaboration between the two universities. In addition to the discussions and presentations, there were demonstrations of research results and applications of the SWITCH lab and NETCOM lab. They also visited WinPhoS Group which has developed the fastest Artificial Intelligence processor in the world, which consists of photonic neurons and works with light instead of electricity.
During the stay they met with Prof. Stamelos (head of the Department of Informatics), Prof. Angelis, Prof. Demetriadis, Associate Prof. Katsaros, and Assistant Prof. Katsanos.
They also met with Prof. Charalampous (Dean of the Faculty of Sciences), Prof. Papadimitriou (deputy head of the Department of Informatics), Prof. Miliou, Prof. Nikopolitidis, Associate Prof. Pleros, and Associate Prof. Tsiatsos.
