13 mars 2025 12:15 – 13:00 Hörsal G

Anna-Maria Strittmatter

The newly appointed Associate Professor at the School of Health Sciences, Anna-Maria Strittmatter, is giving her inaugural lecture titled "Claiming a Seat at the Table: Political Participation of Young People in the Governance of Sports"

What is an Associate Professor

Associate professor is an academic title that signifies a level of competence significantly exceeding that required for a doctoral degree. To be appointed as an associate professor by the MH Committee, one must demonstrate scientific expertise and independence, pedagogical competence, and subject proficiency.

As Associate Professor in Sport Science, Anna-Maria’s research resides in the academic field of sport management. Her range of expertise encompasses sport governance and sport event management. A special focus is on youth sport and action sports.

In her inaugural lecture, Anna-Maria addresses the challenges and issues
surrounding young people's political participation in the democratic governance of sports. Even though children and young people are the main target group of most community sport initiatives, their voices are rarely considered within decisionmaking processes of sport organisations.

We warmly invite you to listen to the inaugural lecture!

The lecture will be held in English.
