Laboratory waste

Waste from laboratory activities must be classified by the user, destroyed if appropriate, packaged, labelled and stored in a way that enables safe handling. Waste separation procedures, storage locations and waste transport procedures can vary between ORU campuses. See the internal procedures applicable to your workplace and the procured waste management agreements (Var gör jag mina inköp? - Inforum). However, the purpose of the waste management procedures is always to ensure that waste management is done in a way that is safe for employees, students and persons handling the waste after it leaves ORU’s premises. Waste management must also be carried out in an environmentally acceptable manner and in compliance with applicable legislation.
