Economics, Causal Inference for Economics - An Introduction, Second Cycle, 7.5 Credits

Most questions of interest in economics questions are fundamentally questions of causality rather than simply questions of description or association. For example, economists aims to find out the effects of a job-training program on an individual's employment prospects. The course aims 1) to present the basic framework for causal inference and the assumptions needed for causal inference and 2) to describe and to use the most popular analysis methods including detailed applications are included, with special focus on practical aspects for an empirical analysis.

When is the course offered?

Prerequisites: First-cycle courses of 75 credits in Economics including an independent project of 15 credits.

Statistics, Basic Course, 15 credits and Data Mining and Business Analytics, Basic Course, 15 credits, alternatively Statistics, Basic Course, 15 credits and 7,5 credits in regression analysis/econometrics/scientific method within economic or statistics. The applicant must also have qualifications corresponding to the course "English 6" or "English B" from the Swedish Upper Secondary School.
