Business Administration, Environmental Management, Second Cycle, 7.5 Credits

Handling environmental issues related to the triple planetary crisis of pollution, climate change and biodiversity loss is important for different types of public and private sector organisations. This requires an understanding of environmental problems and their consequences, as well as the different types of tools that can be used by organisations to manage environmental performance.

Based on how companies can, and should, take the environment into account, the course aims to provide an approach and tools for leading organisations towards their environmental goals. Students will gain insight into how different types of companies and sectors can work with environmental standards, indicators and change management for the design and implementation of internal environmental management systems. Companies participate in the course by giving guest lectures and providing real-life cases for the project work.
The course is useful for anyone interested in environmental questions, but especially for those wishing for careers as managers in organisations where environmental questions are pertinent, or those hoping for careers in environmental consultancy, auditing or control.
