Analytical Biochemistry, 15 Credits

Analysis of biological samples using biochemical methods is instrumental in many applications of forensics and medicine, and in research. The course has its focus on nucleic acids and proteins and is based on the fundamentals of chemistry, biochemistry and cell biology. It gives a deeper understanding on relevant biochemical analytical methods and their applications. It also gives skills to perform these analyses and to use DNA and protein databases. The course also addresses the energy metabolism and the flow of genetic information in the living cell.
