About the Audience: Cinema, Memory and Everyday Life, 7.5 Credits
The course explores different perspectives on contemporary as well as historical spectators of moving image media. With a particular focus on 'cinema memory studies' we examine the history of film reception and problematize audiences as socially and historically coded media cultures. Moreover, we inquire about the collective and individuality of audiences in relation to gender, nationality, ethnicity and fandom.
