Research within the statistics discipline develops models and methods which makes it possible to draw conclusions based on empirical data that is subject to random variation. The methods can be used for description, decision-making and prediction within most areas of scientific research.
Research in statistics builds on a combination of highly mathematical tools from probability theory and computer-based methods. The research at Örebro University is focused at statistical decision-making, medical statistics, epidemiology, econometrics, and survey sampling methods for official statistics.
