Practical information at the campus area
Örebro University’s main campus is a concentrated campus area in a stimulating setting with teaching and research facilities that meet the needs of most disciplines. Here you will also find the University Library, cafés, restaurants, a gym, and student housing.

Wi-fi/wireless network
Örebro University's Wi-Fi (wireless network) offers visitors two alternatives for Internet access. ORU-public is our open network for visitors and guests. At this link you can find information about how to connect you mobile or computer
Currency
Sweden's official currency is "kronor" and "öre". 1 krona (kronor = plural) is equal to 100 öre. Prices in kronor may written a number of ways. For example, 10 kronor may be written as 10 kr, 10 sek, 10 SEK and even as 10:-. Euro is not used in Sweden.
Payments
Please note that payments in Sweden are often done via apps or with credit/debit card. Buses do not accept cash, and some restaurants may not accept cash either. If you know you will be travelling a lot with the busses we recommend you to download the app Länstrafiken
Electricity in Sweden
In Sweden the power plug sockets are of type F. The standard voltage is 220 V and the frequency is 50 Hz. Check here if you need an adapter
Health care
Sweden has excellent healthcare, which you are entitled to while studying here. There are no vaccination requirements for coming to Sweden, or for travel within the EU. Most doctors, nurses and dentists speak English and, in some cases, other languages than Swedish.
For healthcare advice call 1177, which is open to call 24 hours a day. You will get guidance when they answer how to get the information in English). It is not always easy to know how sick you might be. Dialing 1177 puts you in touch directly with an experienced nurse who will assess your condition. The nurse will offer advice and inform you about what clinic to visit, if that is necessary.
The emergency telephone number in Sweden is 112.

Temperatures in Sweden differ not only between summer and winter, but the weather may even change quickly från morning to evening. So, what to wear when arriving here depends very much on what time of year you arrive – or even the time of day.

Cheap train tickets from Germany & Europe
Please note that there are two train stations in Örebro. The biggest one is called Örebro central and here you will find most of the connecting buses. The smaller one is called one Örebro Södra.
