The project aims at combining innovations in fire extinguishing w ith scientifically based fire engineering and environmental assessment. Firefighting can cause major environmental impact w here the extinguishing agent itself can be toxic and contribute to leaching and transport of toxic fire emissions w ith risk of irreversible environmental damage. The goal is to contribute to a good future environment and safe fire-extinguishing by designing protocols that are ready to use by the emergency services, taking into account both environmental impact and extinguishing efficiency.
