Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) is a group of thousands of different chemicals that are suspected to pose a risk to the environment due to persistence, mobility and toxicity. The objectives of the project are:
- establish fate of structural different PFASs by studying mobility and parameters affecting speciation and mobility.
- establish analytical protocols for novel PFASs.
- establish the total PFAS load in environmental studies using a selective and sensitive total organic fluorine method.
- investigate drivers of toxicity and establish effect-oriented chemical- and biological analysis using mechanistic studies and metabolomics.
