Ageing, influences on treatment modalities and health outcomes
About this project
Project information
The number of morbidity increases as people age, and older adults consume a large share of healthcare. Lower health literacy and individual/regional socioeconomic characteristics may associated even greater use of healthcare resources, including multiple, possibly inadequate, medications and recurrent hospitalisations.
Using large English longitudinal survey data and Swedish register data, this project aims to study the association between older adults’ and their caregivers’ health literacy and socioeconomic characteristics and polypharmacy and various mode of healthcare usage.
