Gender dynamics of East-West research mobility

This project examines the drivers of migration of female SET professionals originating from post-socialist countries. What motives brought them to Sweden in the first place? How do they experience their current living and working environments? If they would migrate again, where would they go to, and according what professional and socio-cultural considerations? This ‘case study’ provides more general lessons on the complex and multi-level drivers of migration of technological/scientific expertise in the context of growing global race for ‘mobile brains’.
