Life situations of relatives assisting family members with long-term chronic illness, old age or disability

Within this project, several studies have so far been performed over a ten year period and reported, where the aim was to highlight the life situations of relatives. A doctoral project with an aim to increase the understanding of life situations of relatives assisting as informal caregivers to a family member with long-term chronic illness, disability and / or old age was completed in 2014. The work now continues under the leadership of Med. Dr Jenny Windahl, to link the research that has been conducted within the project to Person-centered care, as well as to study the positive effects of being a relative. A systematic review will be conducted to uncover knowledge gaps in this field.
