Student influence
Students in Sweden are legally entitled to representation in all relevant decision-making bodies within the university. International students are encouraged to participate in ensuring that students’ voices are heard.
To ensure that students have the opportunity to influence the quality of education and study conditions, the School of Health Sciences collaborates with the Örebro student union. An annual agreement with the relevant union sections outlines how students will be represented within the School. This agreement is based on the university’s governing document on student influence.
Management Council
To manage the School’s affairs, the head is supported by a management council. The council comprises the deputy head, division managers, management support, and student representatives. The representatives are appointed by the union sections and are tasked with monitoring courses and programmes at the School.
Programme Councils
Each study programme at the School has a council chaired by the programme co-ordinator. The council includes student representatives who are appointed either by the student union section or by their peers. Typically, 1-2 students participate as representatives.
Preparatory Bodies
Students are regularly invited to participate in preparatory bodies or working groups on matters such as quality evaluations or programme revisions.
Course Evaluation
All courses at the School are subject to evaluation. Students are invited to contribute through questionnaires and/or discussions with lecturers. The evaluation is a key component of the School’s quality assessment process.
