This cross-sectoral DAPHNE-funded collaborative project explores and develops tools and methods to prevent so-called honour related violence (HRV). The aim is to, through knowledge production processes and feminist innovative tools and practices, prevent violence linked to so-called harmful practices (e.g. female genital mutilation, forced or early marriage or forced sexual relationships, honour crimes) committed against women, young people and children. Methodologically, the project increases the capacity within immigrant NGOs for carrying out awareness-raising and educational campaigns for establishing social dialogues concerning HRV. The capacity building will be achieved by the development of, for example: a professional profile for migrant NGOs and individuals relevant for combating HRV; training material based on the European and UN Conventions on Human Rights and the Rights of the Child targeting patriarchal cultures and societies; guidelines for cross-sectoral co-operation and networking between migrant NGOs and other stakeholders (authorities, schools, police and social welfare / healthcare); and train immigrant NGOs in fundraising, project management and sustainability regarding work against HRV.
