New student union section for international students

“With the addition of Nexus, we ensure sustainable international student representation with a unified student voice. This is a natural step in the student union’s internationalisation efforts, and it’ll be exciting to see how it establishes and develops as a new section on campus,” says Anna Olsenius, President of Örebro Student Union.

As of 1 July, with the addition of Nexus, the Örebro Student Union has expanded to ten sections. Previously, international students primarily belonged to the ESN association.

The decision to establish Nexus as a section was made at a special session of the Student Union Council on 20 May 2024. The decision is initially effective from 1 July 2024 to 15 October 2024 due to the need for a statute amendment when establishing a new section, which requires two special sessions of the Student Union Council for permanent establishment.

Nexus will represent all incoming international undergraduate and master’s students at Örebro University.
