New interface for EBSCO databases
On January 7, EBSCO will update the interface of its databases. Here you can read more about what to consider before the update.
The new interface has been developed in close dialogue with users and customers. Much effort has been put into improving accessibility so that the databases can be used by people who use screen readers.
How do I access the EBSCO databases?
After the upgrade, you can access them as before via the University Library's database list.
What happens to my personal EBSCO account?
If you have created a personal EBSCO account where you have, for example, saved articles and searches in your personal folder ("My folder"), this will be transferred to your folder in the new interface.
However, if you have saved something in a custom or shared folder, that content will not be transferred until later – according to EBSCO, tentatively in April. What you have saved will not disappear. If you have material saved in a custom or shared folder that you need to access in the near future, we recommend that you copy it to "My folder" before January 7. Instructions are available.
Some functions will not be transferred
If you use search alerts or journal alerts, these need to be recreated in the new interface after January 7. Please refer to EBSCO's instructions for setting up search alerts and journal alerts in the new interface.
Linking from other platforms
If you have set up direct links to articles in databases, for example in BB Learn, these should continue to work, but we recommend that you test them after January 7.
