Semantic maps are an emergent topic at the intersection of artificial intelligence and robotics. Among others, they provide an intuitive interface between symbolic and subsymbolic parts of a robots control architecture, as well as a framework to perform reasoning, human-robot interaction and (life-long) learning.
This project will investigate current developments in the field of semantic maps and will design new concepts to facilitate the learning of the maps' content, with the goal to provide a general framework that improves usefulness and reliability of our robots for a lot of different application domains.
