Co-operation between sports associations and schools in Örebro County

A research project, conducted by Örebro University (NCFF) and the public health unit of the Örebro Sports Federation, has studied the results of the co-operation between sports associations and schools, and the effects of the government-funded venture involving schools and sports associations (Handslaget). The main aim of the project has been to investigate the school leaders', physical education teachers' and sports administrators' own attitudes and opinions. A questionnaire was send out to all the school leaders/headmasters, and physical education teachers at the compulsory and upper secondary schools in the county. Questionnaires for sports administrators were sent out to all the sports associations that had implemented the government-funded venture (Handslaget) in collaboration with the school. Moreover, ten interviews were conducted with sports administrators. The results from the study were published in a paper in the journal Svensk Idrottsforskning (Swedish Sports Research) and as a report in the Swedish Sports Confederation.
