Dance in Swedish schools

The aim of the project is to survey and document the subject of dance in Swedish schools to make it available for all and at the same time give academics a chance to participate in challenging project work. Regional surveys have been conducted together with schools in six chosen regions. National questionnaires have been sent to school leaders and physical education teachers. Since 1985, a survey municipal study has been conducted, which analyses the situation every fifth year. A questionnaire will be conducted during the spring with the municipalities? children and youth representatives. Dance teachers have been interviewed, teaching material and research reports have been put together. Initiatives for foregrounding dance in schools have been launched at conferences, meeting places, newsletters and NCFF's home page (The Swedish National Centre for Child Health Promotion) and the Swedish Arts Council.
