Residents participating in knowledge production: experiments with participatory research at Baronbackarna

During the period 2007-2009, work on developing methods was conducted in the residential area of Baronbackarna in Örebro in the context of the partnership for sustainable welfare development. A research study was conducted together with residents, researchers and local partners. This involved a joint responsibility for planning of survey questions, collection of data material, analyses, the writing of a report and integration of the results. The overall aim of the study was to strengthen the good neighbourhood and improve the knowledge base for area-based development work, as well as creating direct and positive effects for those taking part.
