The investigative work of social services with children subjected to commercial sexual exploitation
About this project
Project information
Commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) of children and young people harms their health. Defined as sexual acts in exchange for compensation, CSE is often overlooked by social services, which face criticism for failing to identify victims, lacking knowledge, and being perceived as distrustful and blaming. Support is rarely adapted to victims' needs, and scientific knowledge on CSE and investigative methods is limited. This study aims to analyze the investigative process in CSE cases from the perspectives of young people and social workers, as well as the support and protection provided.
