Functional MRI and Appetite Regulation (FAR22)
About this project
Project information
Our goal is to detect differences in brain activity in individuals with obesity before and after weight loss and to compare their brain activity with that of healthy volunteers. We collaborate with the Obesity Unit at Örebro University Hospital. We use functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to map brain activity. This method visualizes brain activity at rest and in response to various stimuli. We will use visual stimuli in the form of food images, both unhealthy (e.g., burgers or pizza) and healthy (e.g., vegetables or fruit). Our hypothesis is:
- That individuals with obesity will show different fMRI responses compared to healthy volunteers.
- That weight loss in individuals with obesity will lead to changes in brain activity.
