The minimalist lifestyle has become increasingly popular in recent years and is often associated with increased well-being and reduced stress. In our contemporary society where many experience a stressful everyday life, it is not surprising that minimalism seems appealing. The purpose of this project is to examine what it means to live a minimalist life as a family. We are studying the opportunities and challenges it entails in daily life both practically and in relation to other family members and the environment. In the project, we also explore the motives and driving forces behind a minimalist lifestyle. The project is based on a qualitative research design where we conduct interviews with both individuals and couples and collect diary entries about living a minimalist life in everyday situations.practically and in relation to other family members and the environment.
