Pathophysiology and physical activity
About this project
Project information
Muscle dysfunction, muscle atrophy and metabolic disorders are frequent comorbidities in patients with chronic diseases (e.g., cancer, myopathies, diabetes, inflammatory diseases), leading to a reduced quality of life and loss of autonomy. Pharmacological treatments and non-pharmacological interventions such as physical activity could be beneficial to reduce or prevent these muscular and metabolic disorders.
This project aims to 1) identify the molecular mechanisms that contribute to disease-induced muscle dysfunction, atrophy and metabolic disorders, 2) identify potential therapeutic interventions (pharmacological treatment and physical activity) to counteract these disorders.
