Ways in and Ways out, Honour Related Violence and the establishment of women in working life
About this project
Project information
The project examines how girls' and women's schooling, education and work are shaped by life within norm systems that are structured by honor norms in Sweden.
The project's empirical material is in-depth interviews with 26 women. The interviews were conducted within the project Honor and Society 2017-2018 and have been re-analyzed within the framework of this project's purpose and issues.
The result reveals that a number of factors, summarised in the concepts inclusion and mobility, are of crucial importance for the girls' and women's exposure to violence as well as for their opportunities for participation in school education and work.
