Hybrid mechanistic/statistical predictive models for precision medicine

"This project is part of the newly established strategical research profile X-HiDE [https://www.oru.se/english/strategic-initiatives/strategic-research-profiles/x-hide/]; we aim to combine mechanistic models about specific inflammatory mechanisms with statistical bioinformatics models involving (multi-)OMICs data and clinical variables to arrive at a so-called hybrid model. Such hybrid models can take certain clinical and molecular variables measured from patients and recognise their status (diagnosis, prognosis) based on a mechanistic model of the involved variables, and combine these with other predictive patterns, again based on either clinical, or molecular variables (or their combination). The project is financed as part of the X-HiDE profile (KK Stifttelsen)."
