Dissertation project for Hanna Thuresson
Supervisors: Ann Quennerstedt and Sara Frödén
The dissertation project examines the youngest preschool children's meaning-making about reading and writing. The project aims to empirically show how early reading and writing look in preschool as a literature practice. Children's actions in literacy events are observed to illustrate the youngest children's meaning-making about reading and writing with the help of social, material and physical resources.
The result of the study's visibility of children's actions in literacy events can be used to start a pedagogical discussion about how children's meaning creation about reading and writing can be a starting point for educators in preschool.
