Early diagnosis of anastomotic leak in colorectal surgery

The project aims to find potential biomarkers for leakage from intestinal anastomoses in animal experimental models and to develop experimental methods to reduce the risk of intestinal anastomotic leakage. The project includes physiological and metabolic measurement methods as well as measurement of potential biomarkers in blood and abdominal fluid.
