Emfysemkvantifiering i CT-bilder med artificiellt neuralt nätverk

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a chronic pulmonary disorder characterised by emphysema and chronic bronchitis. In the Swedish CArdioPulmonary BioImage Study (SCAPIS), 30.000 Swedish men and women have been included and performed detailed investigations including computed tomography (CT) of the lungs. The overall aim of SCAPIS is to predict and prevent cardiopulmonary disease including COPD.

The aim of the present project is to develop a reader independent, artificial intelligence based, method for grading of emphysema extent i CT images. For the development of the method, a cohort of 100 cases with visual emphysema and 100 controls, selected from the SCAPIS pilot study in Gothenburg will be used.
