Network logic and innovation
About this project
Project information
The project deals with innovation in networks. While companies may develop innovations together, their motivation for doing so may differ. We refer to the interests, interaction goals and priorities of firms as their logic.
The aim of the project is to develop a network view on: (a) the motivations and goals of diverse actors involved in the development, production and use of innovation, through the notion of network logic, and (b) create an increased understanding of how divergences and cohesion in network logic affect innovation structures and processes.
The project adopts a qualitative research methodology, based on case studies. The empirical context is innovative networks in the Taiwanese biopharmaceutical and photovoltaic sectors. Multiple sources of data will be utilized for the empirical research, ranging from archival data and documents, to in-depth interviews.
